Young Thug’s ongoing YSL RICO trial has taken a new turn with the possibility of Lil Wayne being called to testify regarding the 2015 tour bus shooting incident.
As reported by AllHipHop, the Fulton County prosecutors sought to present videos of Lil Wayne discussing Young Thug in court on Wednesday (May 1). However, Judge Ural Glanville declined to admit the videos unless Lil Wayne himself appeared as a witness.
Judge Glanville emphasized, “It seems like you all are trying really hard not to call Lil Wayne and that’s your choice.” He made it clear that without Lil Wayne’s testimony, the exhibits would not be admitted as evidence.
The prosecution aims to utilize the 2015 shooting incident against Young Thug, alleging that he enlisted affiliate PeeWee Roscoe to carry out the attack. Roscoe was initially convicted and sentenced, but his conviction was overturned in 2018.
While Lil Wayne’s appearance in court remains uncertain, Alvin Lewis, the driver of his tour bus during the shooting, is scheduled to testify on Monday (May 6).
Lewis had previously filed a lawsuit against Young Thug, Birdman, and Roscoe in 2016 in connection to the shooting incident.
