DJ Clue recently shared his apprehensions about the current state of the hip-hop scene, expressing doubt about an imminent improvement.
In a recent Twitter/X post on February 1, the legendary DJ voiced his dissatisfaction with the apparent scarcity of “fire material” in the industry at present.
While acknowledging that there are some songs making an impact, he criticized the prevalence of what he considers subpar records and lackluster bars.
Addressing the issue, he stated, “Ya’ll keep making excuses for these trash a** records and these trash bars…sh*t gonna get worse and worse… Well this generation’..& ‘well these kids’…if it was a sport..& The games were TERRIBLE..The games would be terrible.”
Highlighting the continuity of the issue, DJ Clue emphasized, “Same shit..different toilet..pun intended [angel emoji]. There is some Fire material..but not a lot.”
These remarks from DJ Clue underscore his concerns about the trajectory of modern hip-hop, suggesting a need for improvement and a return to high-quality content.
