Cam’ron, the multifaceted rapper-turned-sports media personality, recently shared his perspective on Kanye West’s unconventional behavior.
During an interview with All The Smoke co-hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Cam’ron discussed the perceived “craziness” surrounding Kanye West, proposing that it might be more calculated than indicative of mental struggles.
According to Cam’ron, Kanye West selectively embraces eccentricity, suggesting that his erratic behavior is a deliberate choice. In the interview, he remarked, “Kanye, he plays crazy with who he wants to play crazy with, you know what I’m saying? That n***a’s crazy when it’s convenient,” drawing laughter from the former NBA duo. Stephen Jackson chimed in, expressing wholehearted agreement with Cam’s observation.
Cam’ron expanded on his viewpoint by recounting a personal encounter with Kanye West about a year and a half or two years ago. During this interaction, Cam’ron emphasized that Kanye appeared perfectly sane, even extending an invitation to collaborate on beats and spend time together.
However, he highlighted the paradox by noting that just two days later, Kanye West made headlines for exhibiting seemingly erratic behavior in the media.
The rapper emphasized that, from his own experiences, he has never witnessed the side of Kanye’s personality that often sparks controversy. “Every time I’ve seen Kanye, he’s perfectly fine — I’ve never seen the crazy Kanye, personally. Ever,” Cam’ron asserted.
