According to a recent interview with Sway Calloway, it appears that André 3000 is preparing to release a highly anticipated solo album. Collaborating with Killer Mike on the track “Scientists & Engineers” from his own solo project, Michael, Killer Mike shared the exciting news.
The interview clip has been circulating on Instagram, with Calloway stating, “What I’m hearing is Dre got an album coming,” to which Killer Mike confirms, “Yeah, we’re planning to fly out in a few weeks to listen to it.” Calloway expresses his amazement, saying, “Wow, André 3000 has an album coming.” Dismissing any doubts, Calloway adds, “Nah, he played me nine tracks of material he already had. Dre has an abundance of songs.”
The announcement has ignited enthusiasm among André 3000’s fellow hip-hop artists, including Big Gipp, a member of Dungeon Family and Goodie Mob, who shared the post from the Butter.ATL account. The Hip-Hop community is abuzz with anticipation, as evidenced by the enthusiastic comments. The D.O.C. commented, “It has begun,” while DJ Hurricane, known for his association with the Beastie Boys, wrote, “Good news.” With the news spreading rapidly, it’s clear that André 3000’s return to the rap scene is causing quite a stir.
Meanwhile, Outkast, the iconic duo consisting of André 3000 and Big Boi, has not released a studio album since 2006’s Idlewild. Their discography includes numerous hip-hop classics, such as Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik (1994), ATLiens (1996), Aquemini (1998), and Stankonia (2000). Despite André 3000’s recent focus on his flute-playing and personal pursuits worldwide, it seems he is poised to make a highly anticipated comeback to the rap industry.
