Yungeen Ace has revealed that authorities in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, are restricting his ability to protect himself with security and bulletproof vehicles. This revelation came to light during his appearance on DJ Akademiks’ Off the Record podcast on Monday, July 29th.
In a candid discussion with DJ Akademiks, Ace addressed the ongoing tensions with his rival Foolio, who recently passed away. He firmly denied any involvement in Foolio’s death and talked about the impact of local beef on his daily life.
DJ Akademiks suggests, “If I were you, I would be wearing a bulletproof vest.” To this, Ace responds, “I can’t wear a bulletproof vest anyway. Police told me I can’t wear a bulletproof vest, I can’t be in a bulletproof truck.”
Ace expressed confusion and frustration over these restrictions, stating, “And they said I can’t have security. I swear on my life…I just take life for what it is, f**k it…They wanna see me dead but I ain’t going nowhere.”
The interview has sparked conversations about the challenges faced by artists in volatile environments and the measures they take for their safety.
