LUMBERTON – Tragedy struck the community of Lumberton as a young individual lost their life on Tuesday evening. The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office took to Facebook to share the heartbreaking news. At approximately 9:08 p.m., deputies swiftly responded to a distress call regarding a shooting incident on Beam Road in the western part of Lumberton. Sadly, the victim, identified as Tazarie Butler, also known as rapper Lil Jbo, was found deceased at the scene.
Lil Jbo, a recent graduate of Lumberton High School, was known for his athletic prowess, having excelled in both football and basketball as a member of the Pirates’ sports teams. Moreover, he had embarked on a promising journey in the music industry, where he showcased his talent through the release of several tracks under the stage name of Lil JBo.
Lil Jbo’s song, ‘Solider Mentality’ featuring Boosie Badazz, quickly got a lot of attention from Boosie fans worldwide. Boosie wrote on social media, ” DAM LIL JBO!! IM SORRY YOU HAD TO BE TAKEN SO EARLY(praying hands emoji) PRAYERS FOR U N YOUR FAMILY(praying hands emoji) MY N**** REST UP!!!! IM TIRED OF THIS SHIT NO(Cap emoji) TELL MY N**** IM GOOD.”
