T.I. has recently expressed admiration for J. Cole’s decision to apologize to Kendrick Lamar following a diss in the track “7 Minute Drill.”
In an interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Thursday, May 16, the Atlanta-based rapper discussed the brief clash between K. Dot and Cole, highlighting the latter’s unexpected move to apologize.
When asked about Cole’s apology, T.I. responded with a chuckle, “I feel he chose peace and tranquility.” He elaborated on the need for resilience in the rap industry, noting, “You gotta have thick skin and really be unfazed and unbothered.
And we don’t know the temperament or the sensitivity of Cole’s dynamic. We’ve never seen Cole upset. We don’t know where that would take him.”
T.I. further commended Cole’s approach, stating, “I think that was quite mature of him.”
