Shaquille O’Neal is known for his undeniable presence both on and off the basketball court, and his latest musical venture is yet another testament to his multifaceted talent.
On September 1, Los Angeles Hip Hop duo Coyote released a scorching new single featuring the former Lakers center, marking a triumphant return to the city where he once clinched three NBA championships.
In an exhilarating twist of fate, Coyote, consisting of two Mexican kids from LA, realized a dream collaboration with the legendary Shaquille O’Neal, affectionately known as “Shaq.” They celebrated the homecoming of a basketball icon turned rapper with boundless enthusiasm, sharing their excitement on social media.
On the same day as the single’s release, MCs Ladies Love Guapo and Ricky Blanco shared insights into how this potent collaboration with Shaq came into being. Guapo explained, “Shaq was like as long as it’s some hardcore stuff, I’m down,” Guapo explained. “So we made a hardcore Hip Hop ’90s-type song and we’re like, ‘Bro, let’s send it to Shaq,’ and he got on it, did his thing, he spit like 32 bars. He went off!”
Furthermore, Guapo emphasized, “Four hours later he FaceTimes us and he shows us his verse and he went crazy! He’s rapping better than 90 percent of rappers out there.”
