Joe Budden has never shied away from giving his unfiltered opinions on Drake, but this time, he’s making it clear… he’s not here for the back-and-forth.
The latest drama kicked off when a slow-motion clip of Budden stepping out of a car while smoking surfaced on the @plottttwistttttt Instagram page, which is linked to Drake. The video was set to Lil Wayne’s emotional track “Let It All Work Out” from Tha Carter V, seemingly adding a layer of subliminal messaging.
Addressing the post on a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, the retired rapper turned media personality fired back.
“Hey, Drake, don’t shoot at me mad that you ice cold,” Budden said. “I’m not doing a back-and-forth with a corpse. I wanted to do it when it was fun. Don’t go getting shot at all year and then pop up like Bernie from Weekend at Bernie’s wanting to shoot at me now. No, go spin. Spin the block.”
Budden and Drake have had a long history of feuding, with the former Slaughterhouse rapper previously calling Drake a “Karen” earlier this year over his legal battle with Universal Music Group regarding “Not Like Us.”
As for this latest Instagram shade, Budden wasn’t impressed.
“I just saw that sh*t,” he said. “99 dudes done jumped on your a**. You out here smoking hookah in turquoise boots. Don’t post me… go get your f*ing lick back.”
Despite his criticisms, Budden did throw in a rare compliment, saying, “I like Drake with the melodies,” referring to Drizzy’s upcoming joint project with PARTYNEXTDOOR. But his critique quickly resumed.
“That n***a dead as could be,” Budden added. “It’s dead. Everybody left. I left. It’s just you and Ak now. You, Ak, and Adin.”
With their history of public jabs, this might not be the last shot fired between the two. But for now, Budden seems to be letting Drake know… he’s not playing the game anymore.
