The incident occurred at the FedEx Forum located at 191 Beale Street, prompting a swift response from the Memphis Police Department.
Lil Baby was headlining the concert, part of his It’s Only Us Tour, which also featured opening acts including GloRilla, Rylo Rodriguez, Gloss Up, and Hunxho.
The Memphis Police Department shared details of the incident via social media, indicating that they received reports of a shooting at approximately 10:23 p.m. The statement read, “One adult male shooting victim was located and transported to Regional One Health in critical condition,” the post read. “At this time, the identity of the shooter is unknown.”
As reported by WREG-TV, Lil Baby was swiftly evacuated from the stage to ensure his safety in the aftermath of the shooting.
Video footage captured during the incident and circulated on social media shows a disturbance near the stage during Lil Baby’s performance, culminating in a single gunshot being heard.
Subsequent footage shows the injured individual being transported out of the arena on a stretcher. As of now, Lil Baby has not publicly addressed the incident, though GloRilla briefly commented on it via Instagram Live as she exited the FedEx Forum.
The incident has shocked many, with GloRilla expressing her disbelief, stating, “What the fuck, cuz?! These folks just got they gun in the fucking arena, fool… insane,” she said. “Yes y’all, Memphis is ghetto as fuck. We’ve been on the tour this whole fucking time and today they wanna fucking shoot. There hasn’t been a shootout at not one of these shows.”
A witness in the background provided additional details, mentioning, “They shot the one that took Migos’ chain. Right in front of me … As soon as you hit the [inaudible], they pulled the [gun] out and, ‘Bah!’ He on the ground, they stomping him. I saw so many of them folks. I seen Young Mob, I seen all the cliques down there. Paper Route [Empire], everybody was down there on the floor.”
