In response to reports of a stampede that occurred after her concert in Rochester, New York on Sunday, resulting in one fatality and nine injuries, rapper GloRilla has spoken out.
“I’m just now hearing about what happened wtf,” tweeted the “Tomorrow 2” performer, 23, early Monday morning before the death and injuries were confirmed by Associated Press. “praying everybody is ok.”
According to reports, audience members at the Main Street Armory venue in Rochester, New York thought there was a shooting after GloRilla’s concert ended around 11 p.m. on Sunday. They reportedly ran towards the exits, causing a surge that resulted in casualties. Police found three critically injured women, one of whom, a 33-year-old, died at a hospital, while seven others were treated for non-fatal injuries, as reported by AP.
Despite authorities finding no evidence of gunshots or stabbings at the venue, they are investigating various factors that may have contributed to the stampede, including crowd size, shots fired, pepper spray, and others, according to the outlet.
