In a recent exchange that played out on social media, Gillie Da King addressed comments made by Birdman, founder of Cash Money Records, asserting his own position in the industry and dismissing his rival’s relevance. Gillie’s response came on Instagram Live after Birdman had aired their past grievances on Clubhouse.
Gillie Da King didn’t mince his words, boldly stating, “I’m bigger than Baby.” He further emphasized, “Ain’t that crazy? I generate more revenue than that individual right now.” In his candid remarks, he expressed that public interest had shifted away from Birdman, remarking, “Nobody care about you no more, n***a. You old news, n***a … Don’t nobody give a f**K about no Birdman, n***a.”
He continued, stating, “You’re old news,” further cementing his perspective that Birdman’s era of influence had come to a close. Gillie didn’t hold back in his criticisms, suggesting that Birdman should remain silent, and claimed a dominant standing in the industry.
Birdman’s loss of respect for Gillie stemmed from an incident involving Beanie Sigel in Philadelphia. Additionally, Birdman firmly denied long-standing rumors of Gillie ghostwriting for Lil Wayne and other artists under the Cash Money umbrella.
Throughout the exchange, Gillie consistently laughed off Birdman’s comments on various social media platforms. He implied that Birdman was desperately seeking attention, highlighting the apparent timing of Birdman’s response, stating, “You talking ‘bout some sh** 25 years later,” Gillie said. “I called you a b**** ass n***a for 25 years. 25 years later, you respond. Sit ya b**** ass down … I don’t even disrespect n*****. You the only n***a I disrespect ‘cause I know you p****. I see the way you treat real n*****
Gillie conveyed his belief that Birdman was merely reacting to an age-old feud. He revealed that he had addressed Birdman as such for a quarter-century and had only now received a response.
