Gayle King addressed Oprah’s absence, revealing that Winfrey had been hit with a severe stomach flu that required hospitalization. King provided some graphic details about the situation, emphasizing its seriousness.
King stated, “She had some kind of stomach thing — stomach flu — stuff was coming out of both ends. I won’t get too graphic. Needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydration, had to get an IV, it was a very serious thing.”
During Tuesday’s episode of “CBS Mornings,” Gayle King shared these details while hosting author David Wroblewski, whose new book has been selected for Oprah’s Book Club.
Despite the health scare, Oprah is now recovering, according to Gayle. King expressed hope that Oprah wouldn’t be upset about her health information being shared publicly.
