Cam’ron and Ma$e have fired back at J. Prince following his attempt to silence their criticism of Shakur Stevenson.
This past weekend, J. Prince, the founder of Rap-A-Lot Records, intervened in the ongoing feud between the Harlem rappers and the New Jersey boxer he manages.
J. Prince warned them he would “fade all Stevenson’s shots and take all bets.” On the July 15 episode of their sports talk show It Is What It Is, Cam’ron and Ma$e responded to Prince’s threats, refusing to back down.
“You gon’ take all his fades and take all his shots? Alright, so then we talking to you then. Since you the big homie, we starting with you,” Ma$e began, talking about J. Prince.
“When you deal with older people, they’re the last to know that things have changed. We not your lil’ N***as. All that big homie stuff, that’s for little n***as. We’re not little n***as, so we don’t even respect big homies! I know Killa doesn’t, and for me? I never respected n***as in the streets.”
The former Bad Boy rapper continued, criticizing J. Prince for defending Stevenson instead of correcting him like an OG should: “If you’re 60 years old and still trying to be a street n***a, you failed.”
Ma$e also revealed he recently had a positive FaceTime call with the Texas rap mogul and Kanye West, making Prince’s aggressive approach even more baffling to him.
“So I don’t even know why he would come at me with that energy. I felt really disrespected. There are certain people you’re supposed to come at like that, and I’m not one of them,” he said.
Cam’ron, agreeing with his co-host, questioned why J. Prince targeted them over their criticism of Shakur Stevenson but stayed silent when Kendrick Lamar dissed Drake, who has close ties with Prince.
The Dipset legend also referenced Prince’s past conflict with NBA YoungBoy: “You’re 60 n***a! What are you talking about?! Bro, I lost mad respect for you. Cause I used to have mad respect for you.”
“You had Shakur with you when you lined NBA YoungBoy up! Why the hell you got Shakur with you — and this is why he acted like that, talking about you got YoungBoy and the keys to his car. NBA YoungBoy told y’all to eat a d*ck.”
Cam added: “Why do you think you can tell us what we can and cannot say? Control your n***a! Ain’t nobody gonna tell someone, ‘Get the strap,’ and then we’re gonna sit there and be like, ‘I think we should shut up.’ Nah, n***a! This is not 1982. You’re trippin’, James. I don’t know what bet you’re talking about and all that other slang. Whatever bet you’re talking about, bet it!”
