Will Smith was recently on the Daily Show with Trevor Noah and went over the things that paved the way for his crazy Oscars slap. Will Smith was all smiles and seemed to be in good spirits during the interview.

During his explanation, Smith says it stemmed from rage from his childhood. He talked about how he saw his father beat his mother when he was a little boy and how that enraged him with violence.

Noah said he doesn’t believe what Will did reflects who he really is, adding that everyone makes mistakes.

Will’s new movie “Emancipation” is still scheduled to hit the theaters in December. Will Hollywood forgive and forget? I guess we’ll have to see.
