In a recent interview with Billboard following her electrifying performance at Rolling Loud, St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red opened up about her decision to keep her baby daddy’s identity private, shedding light on the importance of maintaining personal boundaries.
When questioned about her reluctance to disclose the identity of her child’s father, Red emphasized the significance of privacy in her life, bluntly stating, “Cause I don’t need anyone in my business — like why you want to be so nosy? Mind your fucking business.”
The rapper, who recently welcomed her second child, nearly unveiled her partner’s identity during her pregnancy when the couple posed together for a maternity photoshoot.
However, she made sure his face was blurred out in the images shared online, maintaining her stance on privacy.
Despite touring with Drake during her pregnancy, Sexyy Red successfully kept the news under wraps, employing various tactics to conceal her growing belly. She recounted the challenges of hiding her pregnancy, admitting to efforts like sucking her stomach in and carefully selecting clothing to disguise her bump.
Reflecting on her experience, Red shared, “I had to practice my breathing — like before I’d go on stage, I had to hold my stomach in and look at myself and be like, ‘Can they tell?’ Once I just was like, ‘Okay I can’t keep hiding it ’cause it hurt to just be on stage all day holding your stomach in.’ So I’m like, ‘Just forget about it.’”
Despite suspicions arising during the Drake tour due to circulating videos and photos, Sexyy Red remained resolute in maintaining her privacy, expressing her desire to limit public scrutiny and safeguard her intimate circle’s knowledge.
In essence, Sexyy Red’s decision to conceal her baby daddy’s identity underscores her commitment to personal boundaries and the privacy of her family life, offering a glimpse into the delicate balance between fame and motherhood in the public eye.
