Trick Daddy isn’t buying into Fat Joe’s assertion that he discovered the talented “Naan” rapper. The dispute arose after Joe’s appearance on My Expert Opinion in 2022, where he boldly stated, “I took his sh*t and got him signed.” However, this claim didn’t go unchallenged for long. Uncle Luke quickly stepped in, asserting his own role in Trick’s early career.
Now, Trick Daddy himself is setting the record straight. In a recent interview with VladTV on Saturday (February 17), he expressed skepticism toward Fat Joe’s recollection, suggesting that embellishment might be at play.
“Fat Joe has to be older than me,” Trick remarked. “Because while I might forget things, I don’t hallucinate. Fat Joe claimed he took my CD to Craig Kallman at Atlantic Records.
But if he secured my deal, how did I end up with a CD? It seems like he’s spinning quite a few tales. Perhaps he’s gotten some details mixed up.”
This statement from Trick Daddy adds another layer to the ongoing debate over who truly played a pivotal role in his rise to fame. While Fat Joe’s assertion might have initially grabbed headlines, Trick’s perspective challenges the narrative, highlighting the complexity of the music industry and the various players involved in an artist’s journey.
