The Ole Miss football community is reeling after the heartbreaking news that 18-year-old defensive lineman Corey Adams has died following a tragic shooting in Cordova, a suburb in the Memphis area.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the incident left four other individuals wounded, all of whom were transported to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive. As of now, no suspects have been taken into custody, and authorities continue their investigation.
Ole Miss released a heartfelt statement confirming Adams’ passing, expressing deep sorrow and extending condolences to his family, friends, and teammates. “We ask the Rebel family to keep Corey and his loved ones in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” the university wrote.
