Timbaland, the accomplished music producer, has broken his silence following the news of the passing of his former music collaborator, Magoo.
In a heartfelt tribute, the seasoned hitmaker honored his partnership with Timbaland & Magoo on Monday (August 14), shortly after reports of Magoo’s demise emerged.
“This one hits different long live Melvin aka magoo !!! Tim and Magoo forever rest easy my king,” Timbaland shared on his Instagram, accompanied by a nostalgic video of their joint performances.
Timbaland continued to pay his respects with another post, featuring recent footage of the duo performing their 1997 hit “Up Jumps da Boogie,” featuring Missy Elliott and the late Aaliyah. Alongside the clip, he added the caption, “An array of cherished memories,” accompanied by dove, broken heart, and teary-eyed emojis.
Warm sentiments and support flooded Timbaland’s comments section from the music community. Well-known figures such as Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Swizz Beatz, Hit-Boy, Keri Hilson, and others expressed their condolences.
