Country music sensation and former winner of The Voice, Sundance Head, is on the road to recovery after a shocking gunshot incident at his Texas ranch.
According to his agent, Trey Newman, the frightening ordeal unfolded on Friday while Sundance was on his rural property. After sustaining the injury, the singer managed to call 911 himself. Emergency responders arrived promptly, stabilized him, and airlifted him to a hospital in Tyler, Texas.
Sundance’s wife, Misty, revealed that paramedics informed her the bullet struck her husband in the stomach. Fortunately, the projectile missed all major organs, becoming lodged in a fatty section of his abdomen. Despite the seriousness of the situation, doctors confirmed his condition is stable.
The circumstances of the shooting remain unclear, but Newman noted that Sundance frequently hunts on his ranch. Earlier that morning, the country star had shared a serene photo on social media, captioning it with a reflection on the “sound of silence,” suggesting he was likely enjoying a hunting trip at the time.
While the incident is being treated as an accidental shooting, it serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with firearm use, even for seasoned hunters.
Fans and followers have flooded Sundance’s social media with messages of support and prayers as he recovers.
