In an electrifying debut at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, The LOX showcased the chemistry, charisma, and well-oiled synergy that cement their legacy as one of hip-hop’s most iconic groups.
The legendary trio from Yonkers performed a medley of their greatest hits, adding fresh twists to classics like “Money, Power, Respect,” “Recognize,” and Jadakiss’ “We Gonna Make It.”
Although The LOX typically don’t perform with a live band, they made an exception for this special event. They enlisted the talents of Jack White’s drummer Daru Jones, vocalist Le’Asha, and Tiny Desk veterans Carrtoons and Kiefer on bass and piano.
Elevating the performance further, a string section was brought in for renditions of “We Gonna Make It” and “Money, Power, Respect.” The LOX’s setlist included eight tracks in total, featuring group hits and solo gems like “All For the Love,” Sheek Louch’s “Good Love,” Styles P’s “Good Times,” and Jadakiss’ “By Your Side” and “Kiss Your Ass Goodbye.”
The LOX’s Tiny Desk Concert is a testament to their enduring appeal and adaptability, proving that their dynamic presence transcends any stage, from arenas to intimate settings.
