A heartbreaking accident in Texas has claimed the life of 16-year-old Elizabeth Marie Angle after a sledding ride behind a Jeep Wrangler ended in tragedy.
Authorities say Angle and another 16-year-old girl were riding on a sled being pulled through the snow by a Jeep driven by a teenage boy. During the ride, the sled struck a curb, veered off course, and slammed into a tree.
Both girls were rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Angle later succumbed to her wounds, while the second teen remains in critical condition.
The incident has sparked renewed warnings from safety officials about the dangers of vehicle-towed sledding, especially on roadways and near fixed obstacles. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
