Top Dawg Entertainment’s founder, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, recently expressed his frustration with a police encounter he described as “harassment” during a traffic stop.
Top Dawg Entertainment is known for its prominent role in the music industry, but this incident had Tiffith sharing a photograph on Instagram, showing himself handcuffed beside a police car.
In his Instagram post, Tiffith used strong language to describe the police officer, referring to him as a “klown” for what he claimed was an unjustified 40-minute detainment related to his vehicle’s tinted windows. Astonishingly, he asserted that he was eventually released without receiving any warning or citation.
Tiffith’s Instagram caption conveyed his disappointment with the encounter, stating, “No matter how much you change or how many great things you do in the community. Some of these mofos still out here harassing n***as,” He expressed his frustration further, “All I wanted to do was eat but this klown had me cuffed out front 40mins. He got folks out here looking at me like i’m a criminal.”
According to Tiffith, the initial reason cited by the officer for the stop was the tinted windows on his vehicle. However, he went on to claim that the officer conducted a search of his car and ultimately allowed him to go without issuing any tickets. Tiffith ended his post with a plea, saying, “He said he stop me for tinted windows. This dude searched my car and let me go with no ticket smh. This not the type of jewelry I like. Get Josh on the phone.”
