In his upcoming album “Kill the King,” which may be his final album, T.I. has responded to Boosie Badazz’s snitch accusations on the new song “Active” featuring Kevin Gates, released March 10, 2023. The track debuted on Atlanta’s V-103 radio station earlier this week, courtesy of DJ Greg Street.
The high-energy trap anthem on T.I.’s new song has him pleading to a higher power for forgiveness towards those who doubt him. In one of the verses, he appears to take a shot at Boosie Badazz, who accused T.I. of being a “rat.” T.I. raps, “You started yellin’, started tellin’/ But on IG, you hard as hellin’/ I’ma tell you somethin’ serious/ Come in here tryna boost ya career and commandeer/ I’ma commandeer the situation, treat him like a hunting deer in the frontier.”
He continues by saying he has been the “King” for 21 years and has never shed a tear despite taking losses, and he always had confidence even when the future was unclear. T.I. previewed “Active” on his Instagram page.
Last month, the rift between T.I. and Boosie Badazz began after a resurfaced clip from an episode of T.I.’s expediTIously podcast in August 2020. In the clip, T.I. recounted an incident with his late cousin, Toot, where they were caught by police with a stolen gun and upscale clothing they were hustling in Atlanta.
Toot, who had introduced T.I. to DJ Toomp, a producer of several hits, including “What You Know,” “24’s,” and “U Don’t Know Me,” was murdered during the court case. T.I.’s lawyer advised him to claim the gun was his cousin’s, and Toot gave his posthumous blessing for T.I. to avoid imprisonment.
Boosie Badazz had a problem with T.I.’s actions and referred to him as a “f***ing rat.” This led to the cancellation of their joint album they were preparing to release together.
“With the T.I. situation, if he did that – you a fucking rat too,” Boosie told VladTV. “I don’t spare no muthafuckin’ body. Because if you doing anything wrong, you doing anything criminal and you cooperate with law enforcement to get you out of trouble – that means you’re cooperating. That means you’re a rat.”“With the T.I. situation, if he did that – you a fucking rat too,” Boosie told VladTV. “I don’t spare no muthafuckin’ body.
