Young Dro’s recent appearance on The Breakfast Club nearly took a violent turn after the Atlanta rapper was heckled while discussing his journey to sobriety.
On Monday (October 14), Dro appeared on the popular radio show alongside longtime collaborator and former Grand Hustle label boss, T.I. While opening up about his struggles with addiction and his time in rehab, a member of the entourage seated behind them began making jokes and laughing at Dro’s serious remarks.
Initially, both Dro and Tip laughed along, but the mood quickly shifted when the man burst into laughter as Dro shared a personal story about a near-overdose, which occurred at the same time his daughter was also battling substance abuse.
The mocking behavior didn’t sit well with Dro, who turned around and sternly warned the heckler: “Aye, you finna get slapped. I mean, we cool but I’ll slap the sh*t out of you ’bout that.”
Things escalated when the heckler defiantly responded, “You ain’t gonna slap me now.” Dro fired back with, “What you wanna do?” creating a tense atmosphere in the studio.
Fortunately, T.I. stepped in to de-escalate the situation, reminding both men of their purpose for being there. “Aye, look! Remember who you came in with! Remember what we doing here, man. Come on, man. Get this sh*t together, bruh. Aiight?!” Tip said firmly, diffusing the potential conflict.
