Rapper Soulja Boy is back in legal trouble after being arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of firearm possession… only four months after being found liable in a civil case involving sexual assault and kidnapping.
The 35-year-old artist, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was reportedly taken into custody early Sunday morning, August 3, during a traffic stop near the intersection of Melrose and Genesee Avenues. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers pulled over the vehicle in which Soulja Boy was a passenger and noticed a firearm inside.
Authorities say the rapper was arrested on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. LAPD confirmed the arrest to outlets including Variety and NBC Los Angeles.
