A man in his 30s is in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while skateboarding in Los Angeles, authorities confirmed.
According to LAPD, the victim was hit by a gray, four-door Ford Fusion. The violent impact launched him off his skateboard and into the roadway near the curb. Instead of stopping to help, the driver allegedly made a U-turn and fled the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics rushed the skateboarder to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Police are now searching for the suspect vehicle, which is described as having a light gray repaint on the front right fender, white tape wrapped around both rear headlamps, and possibly tinted rear windows.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to the driver’s identification, arrest, and conviction. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or recognizes the vehicle to come forward immediately.
