Shyne recently responded to statements made by Natalia Reuben, a victim of the infamous 1999 nightclub shooting that resulted in his imprisonment. Reuben claimed that Diddy, not Shyne, was the perpetrator behind the incident.
During a press conference in his native Belize on April 17, the rapper and political figure, currently leading the Belize United Democratic Party, addressed Reuben’s surprising assertions.
He expressed, “It’s painful to hear the victim accusing Diddy of being the one who shot her. That’s what’s truly striking.”
Shyne then referred to allegations made by producer Lil Rod in a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy. Lil Rod alleged that Diddy boasted about tampering with witnesses and jurors during the criminal proceedings.
“This is what resonates with me the most because I’ve worked hard to move past this and look ahead. But it undeniably reopens old wounds,” Shyne added.
He continued, “I’ve maintained my innocence throughout. Many were aware that I became the scapegoat, yet my adversaries and critics sought to portray me as a criminal. But it was widely known that I was a young individual who took the blame.”
“I’ve consistently asserted my innocence. I stated that I acted in self-defense. I refrained from pointing fingers. But now, the victim is revealing the truth,” Shyne remarked.
When questioned about the veracity of Reuben’s claim implicating Diddy, Shyne declined to delve into specifics, stating, “I prefer not to comment on that.” However, he did express relief that the truth was emerging: “I’m grateful that people are speaking up and affirming that I didn’t perpetrate those acts.”
