A man from Hagerstown had this to say about his “Honey-Do-List.”
“My wife sent me in to get pre-cooked chicken for dinner,” the man told Maryland Lottery officials. While in the store, the man decided to stop by the store’s self-service lottery vending machines before leaving.
“Really, I was going for the $421 million (Mega Millions Jackpot),” he said. He put $20 in the machine and brought a $10 Mega Millions ticket.
Once he and his family finished their dinner, the man decided to scratch the ticket that he had brought from the store earlier.
“I thought, at least I won $10, and I’ll get my money back,” he said. To make sure, he scanned the ticket with the Maryland Lottery app on his phone, which revealed the prize was $100,000.
“He let out a line of words that our kids are not USD to hearing,” his wife told lottery officials. “They thought he was upset.”
The family went to claim their prize at the lottery headquarters in Baltimore. They told lottery officials that they plan to spend the money on a summer vacation, paying down debt, home repairs, and maybe even buy a new TV.
So, if you get sent on a “Honey-Do-List” run… Be happy, because it could turn out better than you think.
