The sudden cancellation of ScHoolboy Q’s upcoming Toronto concert has left fans in disbelief, and the TDE rapper believes the root of the issue lies in the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
ScHoolboy Q took to social media on Wednesday (July 17) to announce that his performance, originally set for Thursday night (July 18) at History—a venue co-owned by Drake and Live Nation—had been called off. “THey just cancelled my sHow in TORONTO… CANADIAN POLICE DONT WANT NOBODY FROM TDE PERFORMING,” he shared on X (formerly Twitter).
In his post, Q hinted at a larger conspiracy, noting recent peaceful interactions between the TDE and OVO camps. “TOP was just wit Wayne & Baby smH,” he wrote, referencing TDE founder Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith’s recent appearance at Birdman and Cash Money’s YouTube Leaders & Legends Gala. He also mentioned: “[P]artynextdoor just Had a sHow @ tHe palladium.”
The rapper’s message took a darker turn as he seemed to imply potential retaliation, adding: “If we wanted to get yall we would’ve just did it.. now wHen sumbody get Hurt don’t cry…”
With tensions high and fans disappointed, the exact reasons behind the show’s cancellation remain shrouded in speculation. However, ScHoolboy Q’s pointed comments have certainly added fuel to the fire.
