“Six weeks ago, I went through open heart surgery,” Scarface wrote, accompanying a stylish photo of himself attending the Grandmaster Awards in Las Vegas over the weekend.
“To be upright and smiling today shows you that God is nothing to play with.” His message was one of faith and resilience, noting the gravity of the situation: “It could’ve gone either way, but I’m still here.”
At the awards ceremony, Scarface and the Paid in Full Foundation honored fellow Hip Hop legends Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Caz, and Roxanne Shanté, all while celebrating his own recovery milestone.
