Rick Ross recently opened up about his altercation with Drake fans during a Canadian music festival earlier this year, claiming that things could have gone differently with the right people by his side.
During an interview on Yung Miami’s Caresha Please, the Maybach Music Group boss addressed the viral footage of the incident. Despite video evidence showing him getting punched, Ross denied taking a hit, stating:
“You saw a video of what? Like I said, Rozay felt like a drink was thrown. ‘Cause once I — ‘Get back, pu**y n***as!’ That whole situation cleared up.”
The altercation, which saw Ross retreating after being sucker-punched, also involved his entourage being attacked. However, the rap mogul believes it would have been a different story if his usual crew had been with him.
“All my homies that traveled with me, them n***as couldn’t come in ’cause of their felonies,” Ross explained. “If I would’ve just had two or three more of my homies with me, we would’ve stripped them n***as out their drawers and socks.”
According to Ross, he was only accompanied by his assistant, DJ, and one security guard. He described them as his “little homies” and noted they weren’t his typical crew.
After the incident, Ross and his team didn’t let the brawl dampen their spirits. “We got our paper, we got to the jet, and as a matter of fact, we went and had some Wingstop, so that was light work,” Ross boasted.
Rozay emphasized that no one from his camp was overly bothered by the incident. “I ain’t even tripping ’cause like I told them, ‘Y’all n***as did that like a G. Everybody got to the crib. That’s what it’s about.’ … We had a conversation. ‘Let’s get back to the money.’ All my homies that usually travel with me, them the n***as that was upset. They was more upset than us.”
Rick Ross’ reflection on the scuffle highlights the importance of loyalty and strength in numbers, but the boss made it clear: business comes first, and no altercation is going to stop him from getting to the bag.
