In light of Don Lemon’s recent termination from CNN, rapper Rick Ross has reached out to offer the news anchor a job at his Wingstop restaurants. Ross, who reportedly owns over two dozen Wingstop locations across the US, made the offer in an Instagram story, stating, “The brother’s got your back.”
“We hiring at Wingstop,” he added. “And for some reason, I believe you know what you doing with the lemon pepper wings, so man, just send over your résumé. I’mma make sure I get you in front of the right grill, brother. Stay solid, brother.”
In the same video, Ross also pitched a business proposition to Lemon involving his energy drink company, Rap Star. He suggested introducing a “Don Lemon flavor” and said, “Aye, Don, we got you brother!”
“Just came up with a wonderful idea — well, really, Don, you helped me come up with this,” he said. “I need to hit the team over at Rap Star Energy Drink and let ’em know we should introduce the Don Lemon flavor. What y’all think? Aye, Don, we got you brother!”
Lemon was let go by CNN earlier this week, with the network stating that they had “parted ways.” However, Lemon claimed that he found out about his termination through his agent and was “stunned” by the news. Despite Lemon’s dismissal, CNN maintained that he would “forever be a part of the CNN family” and wished him well in his future endeavors.
“CNN and Don have parted ways,” the network said. “Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”
Ross’s offer of employment at Wingstop comes at a time when Lemon’s future in the news industry remains uncertain. The news anchor has denied allegations of misogynistic behavior toward his female coworkers, which were published in a recent report by Variety. Regardless, Ross has shown his support for Lemon and offered him a potential opportunity to join his Wingstop team.
