Remy Ma has publicly responded to her son’s recent arrest, emphasizing his innocence and calling for a thorough investigation by the NYPD.
In a statement to TMZ, she said, “We firmly believe in JaySon’s innocence and are hopeful that a detailed investigation will uncover the truth.
This is an incredibly challenging period for our family, and while we deeply appreciate the support we have received, we respectfully request privacy as our legal team strives to prove JaySon’s innocence.”
JaySon Scott, Remy’s eldest child, is facing serious legal charges and is being represented by attorney Dawn Florio. Remy Ma added, “As his mother, I am keen to address this situation personally but have been strongly advised by his legal counsel to refrain from commenting further, a standard recommendation in active legal cases.”
JaySon and another individual are currently in police custody, both accused of first-degree murder.
According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred on June 7, 2021. Police responded to a 911 call at around 12:58 PM, reporting a male shot at the intersection of 148th Street and Rockaway Boulevard in Queens, NY.
Upon arrival, officers found Darius Guillebeaux, who was unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and chest.
Emergency Medical Services transported Guillebeaux to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Local reports have previously described Guillebeaux as an “alleged drug kingpin,” highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Law enforcement officials have arrested 23-year-old JaySon Scott on charges of first-degree murder, two counts of weapons possession, and reckless endangerment in connection to the 2021 killing.
Authorities are investigating the possibility that the murder was a contract killing.
