In a recently surfaced jail video, the late rapper King Von can be seen urging the police to transfer him to a safer area. Throughout his life, King Von had multiple encounters with the law, and this footage from November 2017 sheds light on his plea to be relocated.
The leaked footage, captured on a bodycam, made its way onto social media this week. In the video, King Von discloses his sexual orientation to the officers, hoping that this information would facilitate his transfer to a different cell where he could receive protective custody.
An officer asks King Von if his request for protective custody is due to his sexual orientation, to which he confirms, saying, “Yes.”
Many friends and collaborators of King Von stepped forward to defend him and clarify his motives behind the transfer request. No Limit Kyro, a fellow Chicago native, explained that King Von’s intention was merely to abide by the jail’s regulations.
“YALL KNOW MY BOA TROLLING TO GET PUT ON ANOTHER DECK STOP DAT BAPPIN,” he stated on his Instagram Stories. OTF affiliate THF Zoo also shared a separate video clip on Instagram, featuring an officer’s statement that King Von desired nothing more than to be moved across the hall.
“Ion see this part of the video on the blogs tho yall try so hard to tarnish bro name knowin he one of the realest,” Zoo wrote. “If u been in that county u kno u can’t move nowhere once u on them decks unless you half dead or requesting PC Von never landed in the pc the whole stay and I witnessed it #GBG.”
