Casanova, the renowned Brooklyn rapper, has broken his silence after receiving a 15-year prison sentence. This week, he took to Twitter to address the ruling, which stems from various criminal charges, including a shooting incident in Florida in July 2020, a robbery in New York City in August 2018, and involvement in a conspiracy to traffic over 100 kilograms of marijuana.
In a brief message to his followers, Casanova demonstrated acceptance of the outcome of his case. He wrote, “Everything to the chin, Nothing to the heart,” he wrote. “I GET IT NOW. I hope that don’t go over ya heads.” On Tuesday (June 27), U.S. District Judge Philip M. Halpern sentenced Casanova to 188 months in prison, labeling him a “high-profile leader of a dangerous street gang.”
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams emphasized Casanova’s role as both a notorious recording artist and a prominent figure within a ruthless street gang. Williams stated in a press release, “Caswell Senior is not just a notorious recording artist, but he is also a high-profile leader of a vicious street gang and a magnet for gang violence. At a crowded Miami house party, Senior personally fired a gun that seriously injured and could have killed a victim, inciting a shootout.
Williams further highlighted Casanova’s influence in the community as a driving force behind Gorilla Stone’s successful recruitment and nationwide expansion. Today’s sentencing — along with the other significant sentences that have been imposed in this case — shows once again that gang life is not worth it and will lead to many years in prison.”
Casanova became the twelfth defendant to be sentenced in the case involving the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang. Five other defendants have pleaded guilty and are currently awaiting their sentencing. Despite the challenging circumstances, Casanova’s girlfriend, Swaggy Jazzy, publicly expressed her unwavering loyalty to him following his 15-year prison sentence earlier this week. On her Instagram Stories, she declared, “Baby, I love you. We will endure this together!”
