Offset, one of the members of the popular hip-hop trio Migos, recently revealed a massive new tattoo on his back in honor of his late bandmate and cousin, Takeoff. The incredibly detailed ink features an image of Takeoff wearing several gold chains and surrounded by a black-and-white galaxy print, with a rocket and planet added to the mix. The tattoo, which is Offset’s first major artistic tribute to Takeoff, covers the entirety of his back and is a permanent reminder of his love and respect for his fallen friend.
Takeoff, whose real name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, was fatally shot outside of a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, in November 2022. He was only 28 years old at the time of his death. Since then, he has been remembered in various ways, including a celebration of life at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, tributes from fellow musicians like Rich the Kid, and posthumous releases like Quavo’s “Without You” and “Greatness.”
Offset’s new tattoo is just one more way that the Migos rapper is keeping Takeoff’s memory alive. Offset has been no stranger to tattoos in the past, having even gotten ink from his wife, Cardi B. But this new tattoo is his most significant and heartfelt tribute yet. The tattoo is a testament to the deep bond that existed between Offset and Takeoff, both as cousins and as fellow artists.
