In a heartbreaking turn of events, Bobbie Jean Carter, sister to music sensations Nick and Aaron Carter has passed away at the age of 41, as reported by TMZ.
Jane Carter, Bobbie Jean’s mother, expressed her shock and grief, stating, “I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time. When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private.”
She also pleaded for empathy towards Bobbie Jean’s young daughter Bella, who has now lost both her father and mother at such a tender age. Jane shared, “However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother.”
While the exact circumstances of Bobbie Jean’s death remain unclear, it occurred on a Saturday morning in Florida.
Bobbie Jean, also known as BJ, played a role in the family’s music business during the peak of her brothers’ careers. Particularly, she served as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist for Aaron during his tours in the early 2000s. Her presence was also felt on the family’s E! reality TV show, “House of Carters,” where she featured in eight episodes. In the subsequent years, Bobbie Jean chose to live a relatively private life, stepping away from the limelight.
The late sister battled addiction and substance abuse, a struggle that was documented on television and persisted into her later years. Legal troubles also followed her, with arrests noted as recently as this year.
Bobbie Jean’s passing adds another layer of tragedy to the Carter family. They mourned the loss of Aaron last year due to a drowning incident at his home, which was found to be drug-related. Furthermore, the family experienced the death of another sister, Leslie, in 2012, a result of an overdose.
With Bobbie Jean’s departure, Nick and Angel are the only surviving Carter siblings, alongside half-siblings and step-siblings in the family. She leaves behind a young daughter, Bella, as her legacy. The family requests privacy during this difficult time as they come to terms with the profound loss.
