Super producer Metro Boomin has recently shared his aspiration to bring together some of the most iconic figures in the hip-hop industry for a unique project.
The producer envisions creating a “dream” album that draws inspiration from the ’90s and ’00s rap era, blending the authenticity of the old school with the innovation of newer artists.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Metro Boomin conveyed his longstanding desire, stating, “It’s always been an idea and dream of mine to create a pure and authentic ’90s/early 2000s album with all the OGs and some of the new artists mixed in.”
In response to the announcement, fans eagerly suggested names of potential collaborators, and Metro Boomin appeared open to their input.
When one fan listed T-Pain, Akon, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, T.I., Kanye West, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Eminem, and JAY-Z, Metro responded by sharing a gif of a man writing down names, indicating his receptiveness to the fan’s choices.
Further suggestions were welcomed, including one fan proposing a collaboration between A$AP Rocky and Killa Cam over a Metro sample chop.
Metro enthusiastically endorsed the idea, affirming, “This always been an idea of mine anyway so you might as well count it.”
Additionally, there was a proposal to include JID in the project, with Metro expressing agreement, stating that the Dreamville MC “gotta be on there 4sho.”
Metro Boomin’s vision for this collaborative venture is poised to bridge the gap between hip-hop’s golden eras and the contemporary scene, creating a nostalgic yet innovative experience for fans.
As discussions and speculations continue, anticipation builds for what could potentially be a groundbreaking project uniting hip-hop legends across generations.
