An angler caught a massive 300-plus-pound Arapaima on his trip to Guyana. Ty Kleeb was able to record his amazing catch on video. Ty Kleeb uploaded this amazing video to his social media accounts.
In the video, Kleeb throws a small lure into some structures and against banks before hooking the massive fish.
Arapaima is considered one of the nastiest and hardest to catch fish on the planet. These fish are considered to be one of the largest species of freshwater fish in the world. They can reach up to 440 pounds and up to 10 feet long, according to Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Boilogy Institute.
They live througout the Amazon River basini of South America. They feed on fish, fruits, seeds, insects, birds, and small mammals found near the surface of the water. Arapaima’s can breathe air and have been known to survive for up to 24 hours without water.
