Luigi Mangione is speaking out for the first time since his arrest in connection to the Brian Thompson murder case, expressing deep gratitude for the overwhelming support he’s received.
In a statement released Friday via a newly launched website dedicated to his defense, Mangione acknowledged the flood of messages he has received from supporters across the world.
“I am overwhelmed by… and deeply grateful for… everyone who has reached out to share their stories and offer their support,” Mangione said. “What’s truly powerful is how this support has crossed political, racial, and class divides, with letters pouring in from across the country and beyond.”
Although Mangione says he can’t respond to every message personally, he assured his supporters that he reads each one. “While it’s impossible to reply to everyone, please know that I appreciate every letter. Thank you to those who took the time to reach out… I look forward to hearing more.”
His legal team stated that the website was created in response to the “extraordinary volume of inquiries and outpouring of support” from the public.
As Mangione’s case unfolds, his statement makes it clear that he’s leaning on the backing of those who believe in his defense.
