LL Cool J’s highly anticipated album is set to feature some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Eminem and Nas. The rap legend from Queens, New York, is making his musical comeback with this album, which coincides with Hip Hop’s 50th birthday this year. The as-yet-untitled project will boast an impressive list of guest appearances from Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Saweetie, and others, as reported by AllHipHop.
This will mark the first time LL Cool J collaborates with Eminem and Nas on a record. Eminem was initially supposed to feature on LL’s G.O.A.T. 2 album in 2014, and while that project was shelved, LL continued to tease a collaboration with the Detroit rapper.
Finally, the two shared the stage in 2021 at LL Cool J’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where Em helped his Hip Hop hero perform “Going Back to Cali” and “Rock the Bells.”
Aside from the stacked list of features, LL Cool J’s new album also boasts Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest as the producer. LL is confident that the album is something new and modern without chasing after trends, and he can’t wait for the people to hear it. The album’s first single, “The Force,” was premiered on Rock the Bells Radio, produced by Q-Tip and featuring Michael Jackson as a co-songwriter.
To promote the album, LL Cool J will embark on a tour titled “The Ultimate Hip Hop Mash-Up Tour” with The Roots, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and DJ Z-Trip. The collective will be joined by several special guests in select cities, including Big Boi, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Rick Ross, and Rakim.
