Lil Wayne’s lyric notebook from the ’90s is officially up for grabs, carrying a staggering $5 million price tag after a lengthy ownership dispute was resolved earlier this year.
According to TMZ, the rapper’s handwritten notes, initially listed at $250K five years ago, are now being sold for $5 million. Moments in Time, the company handling the sale, justifies the hefty markup, emphasizing Lil Wayne’s status as one of the greatest rappers ever, which makes his personal notes exceptionally valuable.
But the price isn’t the only intriguing aspect of this notebook. In 2019, Moments in Time attempted to sell the notebook on behalf of a man who claimed to have found Lil Wayne’s old property in a car once owned by Cash Money Records.
This sparked a fierce battle as Lil Wayne demanded the return of his work, with his attorneys issuing a cease and desist letter to Moments in Time, asserting they had no right to sell the lyrics and accusing the finder of fabricating his story to profit from the discovery.
The man contested, invoking “finders-keepers,” and sought legal recognition as the rightful owner. Despite the uproar, Lil Wayne chose not to respond, leading the court to rule against him.
Now, after years of legal wrangling, this unique piece of rap history could be yours—if you have the cash to spare.
