Celebrating the illustrious career of Lou Williams in the NBA, Lil Wayne dedicated a touching freestyle to the retiring basketball star.
On July 26, the Sixth Man of the Year, who concluded his final season with the Atlanta Hawks last year, shared a video where Lil Wayne delivered a heartfelt freestyle in honor of his retirement at the age of 36.
During the freestyle, Lil Wayne praised Williams’ remarkable achievements, highlighting his record for the most points scored off the bench and playfully mentioning the famous incident where Williams left the NBA Bubble to indulge in some lemon pepper wings from a strip club.
“My n***a Lou Williams, man, 17 years in the game, finally retiring,” Lil Wayne expressed. You the hardest n***a in the world when you know the whole fucking NBA community know that you went to the fucking club to get some fucking lemon pepper Lou wings.”
He continued, “And I know you know that if that would’ve been anybody else, them n***as would not be in the NBA! … N***as got songs after you, and you deserve every single bar. You deserve all your flowers, man.”
It’s evident that Lil Wayne and Lou Williams share a strong mutual respect, as the rapper often delves into the basketball world, while Williams has explored his passion for music by releasing his own songs. Notably, the two collaborated on a track back in 2021, showcasing their friendship and shared interests beyond their respective fields.
