Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X (real name Montero Lamar Hill) was arrested early Thursday morning in Studio City after a chaotic encounter with police, authorities confirmed.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to Ventura Boulevard and Vineland Avenue around 5:50 a.m. after reports of a man walking in the street. When officers arrived, the man allegedly charged at them, leading to a swift arrest.
Police identified the individual as 26-year-old Lil Nas X, who was booked on suspicion of battery on a police officer. Following the arrest, he was transported to a nearby hospital after officers suspected he may have experienced a drug overdose.
The chart-topping artist, best known for hits like “Old Town Road” and “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” has not yet issued a public statement.
