Lil Durk is taking a stand against gun violence in his hometown of Chicago, urging both local communities and city officials to join him in this crucial mission.
In a recent clip from his upcoming appearance on the Big Facts Podcast, released on Friday (May 31), the Chicago rapper responded to co-host Big Bank’s question about how he would use his music to “clean the streets of Chicago up” and end ongoing conflicts.
“Our number one goal is to stop it,” Durk asserted. “For us on the streets and for the politicians, the top priority is to curb the violence and reduce it as much as possible. It all begins with everyone coming together.”
Despite his strong commitment, Durk acknowledged the complexities of this task.
“It’s not easy,” he noted. “You might have someone thinking they’re in charge, but their younger associates don’t respect them. Even if they call for unity, they might be dismissed.”
Lil Durk’s heartfelt message highlights the urgent need for collective action and unity to address and reduce violence in Chicago.
