Lauryn Hill has finally addressed the sudden cancellation of the North American leg of the Fugees reunion tour, revealing that disappointing ticket sales were the reason behind the decision.
In a recent social media post, Hill pointed to misleading and sensationalized headlines about a previous injury that forced her to reschedule last year’s tour. She claimed that this negative press narrative discouraged fans from purchasing tickets.
Hill expressed her frustration, explaining that her dedication to her art was overshadowed by the misrepresentation in the media, leaving her deeply disappointed about not being able to perform.
While Hill reassured her American fans that they will see the Fugees back on stage in the future, she emphasized that her upcoming shows in the UK and Europe this October are still on track.
This clarification brought some relief to her fans, who were left in the dark when the late summer and fall dates were abruptly canceled.
The 18-date tour was originally set to launch in Tampa this Friday and run through mid-September. Full refunds have been issued to ticket holders.
