Kendrick Lamar has received an intriguing business proposition from Dame Dash, co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, following the resurfacing of an old tweet where Lamar expressed his preference for JAY-Z’s “Reasonable Doubt” over Nas’ “Illmatic”.
Dame Dash, who holds a one-third ownership of Roc-A-Fella Records, made the offer after a 2010 tweet from Kendrick Lamar reappeared online.
In the tweet, Kendrick stated, “I’m sorry, Reasonable Doubt is better than Illmatic… #youcanunfollowmenow.” This tweet caught Dash’s eye, prompting him to share a screenshot of it on Instagram.
On June 6, Dash extended an offer to Kendrick Lamar, suggesting that Lamar could buy his stake in the iconic record label. In his Instagram post, Dash wrote: “@kendricklamar my 3rd is for sale if you want to buy it. Any serious offers DM.”
As of now, Kendrick Lamar has not responded publicly to Dame Dash’s proposition.
