In a candid discussion with the Dope As Usual podcast, Jeezy, the Atlanta rapper, opened up about a distressing encounter with weed that led to a hospitalization. This unsettling incident left a lasting impact on him, causing him to abstain from smoking for nearly a decade.
During his hustling days, Jeezy found himself in a perplexing situation involving weed and unintentional exposure to crack cocaine. Recounting the incident, he explained how a woman, whom he refers to as “cuz,” seemingly laced a batch of weed with “crumbs” of crack cocaine. These “crumbs” were remnants of cut-up rocks placed in a bag, commonly known as “shake.”
Unaware of the unexpected adulteration, Jeezy and his friend indulged in smoking the laced weed while cruising in their car and listening to 2Pac’s music. As the effects started to take hold, Jeezy described feeling intensely paranoid, believing that the music was chasing him. His anxiety escalated to the point where he feared for his life, prompting his friend to take him to the hospital.
At the hospital, Jeezy contemplated whether the woman had intentionally added the “crumbs” to heighten the potency of the weed. Despite his suspicions, he never received a clear answer from her. However, this frightening episode left a profound impact on Jeezy, who made a decision to abstain from smoking for approximately ten years.
The incident struck a chord with Jeezy, as he witnessed some of his friends falling into drug addiction, particularly crack cocaine. This realization deeply affected him, considering his involvement in the hustling world. He began to distance himself from that lifestyle and prioritized steering clear of drugs.
