In a remarkable philanthropic endeavor, music mogul Jay-Z, alongside co-hosts Michael Rubin, Meek Mill, and the REFORM Alliance, orchestrated a captivating James Bond-themed soirée at the Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City on September 30.
Comedian Kevin Hart took center stage as the event’s charismatic host, captivating the invite-only audience of over 250 VIP attendees who came together to champion the cause of criminal justice reform.
This exclusive black-tie affair not only provided an enchanting evening but also raised a staggering $24 million to drive transformation within the nation’s probation and parole supervision system.
The REFORM Alliance, an organization dedicated to reshaping the lives of the nearly four million individuals entangled in probation or parole, has set its sights on dismantling the revolving door that leads back to prison. Their mission revolves around creating opportunities for meaningful work and overall well-being for those ensnared in the criminal justice system.
As part of the night’s festivities, guests eagerly engaged in a thrilling blackjack tournament, a sumptuous dinner program, and an electrifying live auction. The guest list featured an impressive lineup of celebrities, including Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Quavo, Jack Harlow, Fabolous, Lil Kim, Fat Joe, French Montana, and Ne-Yo, among other luminaries.
The culmination of the evening unfolded with a dramatic final hand of blackjack played on the main stage, with a triumphant Andrew Goldberg, Managing Partner of TAO GROUP, claiming a remarkable $1 million prize. In an inspiring act of generosity, Goldberg promptly announced a $750,000 donation from his winnings to further support the crucial work of the REFORM Alliance.
The dinner program also showcased an engaging onstage conversation between Wallo, host of the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, and Kevin Hart. The event took an exciting turn as attendees had the opportunity to bid on an array of unique items generously donated by notable figures, including Tom Brady, George Condo, Rashid Johnson, and Jay-Z himself.
Among the auction items was an original painting by George Condo, which triggered an enthusiastic bidding war between Kim Kardashian and Tom Brady. Additionally, Jay-Z contributed a historic timepiece to the auction. The combined efforts of the generous donors and enthusiastic bidders raised a staggering $7.8 million to bolster the cause.
The evening’s excitement continued with an exuberant after-party hosted at Ocean’s Sportsbook, The Gallery. The post-dinner festivities featured a full D’USSE bar takeover, serving specialty cocktails that kept the energy high.
Surprise performances by A-list musicians, including Travis Scott, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Fat Joe, Lil Durk, Quavo, French Montana, Fabolous, and Romeo Santos, added an electrifying crescendo to an already unforgettable night.
